You Are 

A detailed oriented and analytical team player with a commitment to safety. From inception to completion, you will produce machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. Overall, you will have a direct impact on the fabrication of parts, ensuring production goals and quality standards are met.

Working collaboratively with the production, planning, quality and project management teams to ensure seamless communication and effectiveness.

What you will do

  • Ensure CNC machines run efficiently;

  • Create the contours, angles and saw cuts from drafting/engineering blueprints;

  • Machine according to engineering blueprints/drawings, materials, specifications and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T);

  • Responsible for maintaining the CNC software database;

  •  Troubleshoot CNC Machines when required;

  • Develop effective relationships and facilitate good communication between key departments; 

  • Complete daily production reports;

  • Perform daily regular maintenance (i.e. cleaning) on CNC machines and work areas;

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

  • A diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in machining.

  • An understanding of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.

  • The ability to interpret drafting/engineering drawings and documents as related to the manufacturing process.

  • Excellent computer/technical skills (Excel, Smartsheets, etc).

  • A good understanding of mathematical principles in the application of equations, solution of arcs and angles and knowledgeable in trigonometry.

  • Prior experience using FSTCam Software and/or Elucad Software an asset.

  • Ability to take direction and drive collaberation within tight timelines.
